La Sosta 2014

Our 2014 Season will start on the 18th April and end on the 5th October.  We look forward to welcoming you to our Small Hotel and Kitchen and to help you discover the Cinque Terre area, a wonderful corner of Italy.

La Sosta di Ottone III is off the beaten track.  It is located in a typical Ligurian village dating back to the year 1000, situated on a ridge 200 metres above sea level, overlooking the Levanto valley and the sea.

A single narrow road runs through the length of the village which does not allow car traffic, preserving its original atmosphere.

Chiesanuova is crossed by several footpaths: some lead to the famous Cinque Terre pathway and others to the other villages in the the Levanto valley.  A myriad of paths link the various villages of the Levanto Valley and allow walkers to explore vine filled terraces and olive groves.

In 2010 the old railway tunnels connecting Levanto to Bonassola and Framura were reopened to the public as a foot and bike path.

The round trip is about 2 hours long, flat, mostly shaded.  It's not all under tunnel walking: there are frequent breaks with wonderful sea views and in many cases it is possible to walk down to the rocks for a swim or just some restful sunbathing.
