La Sosta di Ottone III is a 4 room Inn perched in the hills at the top end of the village of Chiesanuova, 200 meters above sea level .

La Sosta di Ottone III,a 16th century listed building, is a perfect location for active travelers looking to discover the Cinque Terre and enjoy the atmosphere and rhythm of a medieval rural village.

The village is not accessible by car: the Inn is reached via a 100 meters footpath (not ideal for steamer trunk luggage!) at the end of which is La Sosta overlooking the Levanto valley and the sea.

Monterosso, the first of the Cinque Terre, is 5 km away.

Levanto, a well known Italian family seaside resort, is also 5 km away.

Walk to the Cinque Terre directly from the Inn by following the marked pathway through olive groves end pine forests or sunbathe and swim at the nearby beaches of Levanto (1 hour and 35 minutes walk) and Monterosso (2 hours and 30 minutes walk).

By car or train you can venture further to Lucca, Genova, Pisa and Portofino which are all roughly 1 hour away.

There are 4 spacious suites: Ottone III, Silvestro II, Teofano and Adelaide.

All are decorated with an appealing blend of antique furnishings and décor with stunning marble or mosaic ensuite bathrooms.

From each suite, guests can admire a spectacular view overlooking the Levanto valley and the sea.

Particular care has been taken to use local materials and artisans for decoration and furnishings.

All the suites are non smoking and have heating, air conditioning, a safe deposit box, a fridge, a hairdryer and broadband internet connection.

An Internet Point for guests is available in the Inn's sitting room.

The restaurant, located in the renovated cellar, opens on to a terrace which overlooks the village of Chiesanuova , Levanto and the Mediterranean. When weather permits, you will enjoy your meals out of doors.

Since we take particular care to select ingredients which are in season, purchasing from local and organic growers, our menu, highlighting Ligurian cuisine, changes daily.

A Continental breakfast is served daily between 8:30 and 10:00 am. Typically you will be offered a choice of: coffee/tea/chocolate/milk/fresh orange juice; bread/butter/jams/honey; a homemade sweet or savoury cake; muesli/cereal/yogurt/fresh fruit.

The price per person is € 15,00 (€ 7,50 for children under 12).

A restaurant service for dinner is available and guests are kindly requested to book one day in advance. The menu reflects local cuisine and particular care is taken in selecting the ingredients many of which are bought directly from local producers. Alternatively, the nearest restaurants are in Levanto and Monterosso and we will be happy to help you make your choice.

Dinner is offered every evening except Saturday and Sunday at 7:30 pm. Meals consist of an antipasto, first and second courses and dessert. The first course will typically feature pasta, with meat or vegetarian sauce. The second course will offer a choice of meat (chicken, rabbit or beef) and/or vegetarian dishes served with vegetables in season. Fresh fruit and home made desserts will complete your dinner. You will be able to choose your wine from a list prepared by owner and sommelier Fabio Graziani who offers a selection of fine Italian wines not easily found outside Italy.

The full menu is € 40.00 per person, excluding wine and beverages. Alternatively you may select specific items a la carte from the menu.

A typical Ligurian village dating back to the year 1000, is situated on a ridge 200 metres above sea level, overlooking the Levanto valley.

A single narrow road runs through the length of the village which does not allow car traffic, preserving its original atmosphere.

Chiesanuova is crossed by several footpaths. Some lead to the famous Cinque Terre pathway and others to the other villages in the the Levanto valley.

The sea is a 30 minute walk away (45 minutes to walk back up).

The Inn has no parking facility; Chiesanuova is not accessible by car. Parking is available outside the town which will mean a maximum 100m walk to La Sosta di Ottone III.
